Over the past few weeks, every Thursday at 8pm, the nation has taken to the streets to clap for our carers and key workers to thank them for their tireless efforts during the coronavirus pandemic. As part of this, a number of landmarks have been illuminated in blue, in tribute to the NHS.
This afternoon I joined a call with the Chief Exec of Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Richard Mitchell, along with local MPs Lee Anderson (Ashfield) and Ben Bradley (Mansfield), to discuss the situation relating to coronavirus in our local hospitals.
Earlier today Lee Rowley, Member of Parliament for North East Derbyshire, and I spoke to the Chief Executive of the Chesterfield Royal Hospital. We thought it would be helpful to share an update.
Here is my latest weekly update while my office remains closed under current guidelines.
As we go into Easter Weekend, I want to say a huge thanks to all those adhering to the current guidelines, and to all those going above and beyond for our community.
