Bolsover Castle will go Blue #ClapforCarers

Over the past few weeks, every Thursday at 8pm, the nation has taken to the streets to clap for our carers and key workers to thank them for their tireless efforts during the coronavirus pandemic. As part of this, a number of landmarks have been illuminated in blue, in tribute to the NHS.

I received a number of messages from constituents, who asked me whether it might be possible for Bolsover Castle to be lit up in blue. I approached English Heritage with their suggestion and have, today, been informed that this will happen from this Thursday evening. The Castle will, in fact, be consistently lit blue over the coming weeks and I hope everyone enjoys this special sight.

I am very grateful to English Heritage for making this possible and to those constituents who brought the suggestion to me.
