Mark meets with Highways England to discuss priorities and investment into Bolsover's road infrastructure.
Mark Fletcher recently met with Highways England to set out local priorities for investment into Bolsover's road network - focussing on how regional connectivity can be improved to bring jobs and investment into the Bolsover constituency.
Long-standing issues with junction 28, 29 and 30 of the M1, as well as concerns regarding the A38 were discussed at the meeting.
Commenting Mark said:
"I raised a number of concerns in my meeting with Highways England including air quality, congestion and the dangerous designs of junction 28 and 29.
I've been working with a number of local councillors on these issues who have also been raising the same concerns for a while now.
Improving our local and regional infrastructure is absolutely essential to the Government’s levelling-up agenda and makes a substantial difference to people’s everyday lives here in the Bolsover constituency."
Whilst plans are still in the pipeline, Mark will be writing to the Secretary of State for Transport, Derbyshire County Council, Midlands Connect and local enterprise partnership D2N2 outlining how important it is that these plans become a reality.
