Bolsover School

It's been a tremendous day in Bolsover following the announcement this morning that we will soon have post-16 education in the constituency !

I've spent the day in Bolsover, meeting with Matt Hall, Headteacher at Bolsover School, Tim Croft of Redhill Academy Trust, Kathryn Mitchell and Professor Keith McLay from Derby University talking about the next steps and how to ensure we have the absolute best post-16 opportunities available to our young people as soon as we can, as well as speaking to various media and press ( Keep an eye out on ITV Calendar and East Midlands Today, and an ear out on BBC radio Sheffield )

Later this afternoon I spent some time out delivering the news update to residents of Bolsover. I'll be back out and about in Bolsover in the morning too so do feel free to say hello and ask me any questions you might have.

Thank you to everyone for their support and hard work to get us to this point - the future is very exciting and I am genuinely over the moon !

Championing Education

Our education services do a phenomenal job with our constituency but with no provision for post-16 and one of the highest computer illiteracy rates in the region more must be done to tackle both of these issues.
