Throughout the Spring of 2021 we had a number of inspirational Heroes of Bolsover.

Paula DeGirolamo

Paula has been working closely with the Community Unity Project on behalf of Derbyshire County Council. She has supported the charity as a Project Officer at County Hall and provided valuable support to the Charity so that they could continue carrying out their vital work supporting the community.

Ash and Julie Humphries

Ash and Julie Humphries made the decision to raise some money for the Jessop Wing at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield after experiencing the brilliant world class care at the hospital. The Couple raised an amazing £3,000 for the hospitals Jessop Wing which helps children who are born prematurely.

Lauren Mottram

Lauren showed the very best of what it means to be a Hero of Bolsover. During a residential house fire, Lauren ran into a burning building to save an elderly resident who was trapped inside and couldn't get out. Lauren's bravery in the face of immediate danger, putting others lives before her own safety is what being a Hero of Bolsover is all about!

Bradley Dennington

Bradley has been lending a helping hand in Pilsley and working with the Parish Council there. Bradley has been helping with grass cutting throughout the village, as well as clearing snow during the winter months. Bradley's willingness to help out his community has been brilliant to see.

Elaine Streets

Elaine helped a fellow member of the public who had gone into cardiac arrest. Elaine made sure that they got the medical attention that they needed by acting swiftly and staying with the fellow resident to make sure that they were okay. Elaine's actions in the face of upsetting circumstances is commendable.

Mason Melbourne

Mason has been a true inspiration to his community and has been doing a number of litter picks in his local area to help the animals and environment near where he lives. He has also been kindly writing to and painting for elderly residents in care homes,  as well as getting all his school work done. Mason has a bright future ahead of him and his family are bursting with pride.
