J28 view from Alreton Rd Pinxton

Since being elected in 2019 I have been campaigning for improvements to be made to Junction 28 of the M1 and ensuring we receive the necessary funding is a key priority of mine for the Bolsover Constituency.

This is a major part of the national road network and is no longer fit for purpose. National Highways have drawn up plans to vastly improve traffic flow, and road safety, around the Pinxton Interchange (Junction 28), however we need to put forward a strong business case to the Department of Transport (DfT) to get the funding to make the plans a reality.

Next month I will be hosting a J28 roundtable with Midlands Connect, who will be making representations to the Department for Transport for funding, and they want to add weight to their argument by hearing about the first hand experience of businesses using this junction and how the improvements will economically benefit our area.

If your business experiences difficulties and delays due to traffic problems around J28 then I would very much welcome your involvement in this event.

If this is something you are interested in then please email [email protected] for more details.

This event is strictly for businesses who are affected by Junction 28. For residents who want to want to see change, please sign my petition here: https://www.mark-fletcher.org.uk/form/junction-28-petition
