Mark Fletcher today welcomed the announcement of over £400 million of funding to help our iconic cultural and heritage organisations across the UK to reopen and recover following the Covid-19 pandemic.
Bolsover will benefit from over £1.28 million of support for organisations across the constituency, including Creswell Heritage Trust, OPUS Music and KB Event Ltd.
This announcement is part of the unprecedented Culture Recovery Fund of over £2 billion to support arts, culture and heritage organisations in the UK, with over 2,700 organisations benefitting in England alone. This is the largest one-off investment in the arts in UK history, and Mark is proud of the Government’s support for the industry to bounce back following the effects of Covid-19.
“I am delighted at the news that these organisations in Bolsover are set to benefit from over £1.28 million in support to reopen and recover following Covid-19. I am proud of the amazing arts, culture and heritage organisations we have here in our constituency and I am looking forward to having people come and make use of them again”
Mark has made increasing tourism in Bolsover one of his key aims as the local MP for the area. With historic sites such as Creswell Crags, as well as Bolsover Castle, Hardwick Hall and other amazing arts and cultural centres across the constituency, Mark sees a huge opportunity to attract visitors and short-term tourists to see the many amazing things on offer across Bolsover.
