This page shows the campaigns I am engaged in around South Normanton, Pinxton, Blackwell, and Tibshelf. If you would like to know more details about any of these campaigns please do not hesitate to email me on mark.fletcher.mp@parliament.uk.
Junction 28
Securing funding for improvements to Junction 28 of the M1 has been one of my main priorities since being elected in 2019. I have been working with Highways England and Midlands Connect to push forward a successful funding application to the Government, including signing joint letters, getting views of local residents from surveys, launching a petition, and getting feedback from businesses in the region.
South Normanton Town Centre Regeneration
I am working with local councillors to help regenerate the town centre by making improvements to the public realm and facilitating business and market growth.
New Care Home for Tibshelf
I am working with Derbyshire County Council to replace Holmelea with a modern and fit for purpose care home to provide elderly Tibshelf residents with dignity in old age.
Pinxton Station and re-open Maid Marian Line
I am working with Bolsover District Council, Ashfield District Council, and Lee Anderson MP to re-open the Maid Marian Line for passengers with the creation of a new railway station to serve Pinxton and Selston, which are currently poorly connected with the constituency and wider region.
Pinxton Canal and Walkway
Residents have told me many stories about the history of the Cromford Canal and surrounding walkways in Pinxton. I am working with Derbyshire County Council and local groups to help restore these great natural sites for the local community to enjoy.
Train Station for Blackwell and Westhouses
Following representations from local councillors and residents, I am exploring the possibility of restoring a railway station at Blackwell and Westhouses.
